Speech Synk ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Speech Synk iOS app and our website at speechsynk.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: when you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password hash.
- Profile preferences: goals, preferred delay settings, and other non-identifying preferences you set in the app.
Information collected automatically
- Session data: the duration, settings, and computed fluency metrics for each practice session. This data stays linked to your account.
- Audio recordings: short audio captures used to generate session insights. These are encrypted on-device using iOS Data Protection (class NSFileProtectionCompleteUnlessOpen) and are never sent in raw form to any third party.
- Diagnostic data: anonymous crash and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics, used solely to improve app stability.
How we use your information
- To operate the Service and your account
- To generate personalized practice summaries and progress views
- To respond to your support requests
- To detect and fix bugs and security issues
AI processing
Speech Synk uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate post-session coaching summaries. Before any text is sent to this API, we strip personal identifiers (names, emails, unique IDs). Raw audio is never transmitted to the Claude API or any other third party.
Data we do not collect
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the app.
- We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
- We do not collect contact lists, location, photos, calendars, or other device data beyond what is described above.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account within the app. Deletion is permanent and processed within 30 days. You may also email privacy@speechsynk.com to request deletion.
Children
Speech Synk is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.
Security
All network traffic uses TLS 1.3 or higher. Sensitive data on-device is protected with iOS Data Protection. No system is perfect, but we follow industry best practices and continuously improve our security posture.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Contact privacy@speechsynk.com to exercise any of these rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect.
